God of love,
You know the woman I met yesterday whose heart was broken, who wondered if she could keep on going? She said she could only do it for the sake of her children. I pray for her today. Give her strength to take one more step, not just for them, but for herself as well.
You know my friend who is struggling with addiction? He has made it a couple of weeks, but he says it is really hard. He tells me it is one day, even one hour at a time. I pray that you will help him stay sober this one more day so that someday he might be free from that bondage.
You know the woman in the church who is in chemotherapy, and it makes her feel so crummy? Send your Holy Spirit to her that she might get through this treatment. Keep the hope alive in her today as she fights for her life.
You know the woman who sent a prayer request in fear of becoming homeless? Be a God of provision for her and give her today her daily bread, the resources she needs to care for her family. Show her where to turn for help.
As I turn my mind and heart to pray for others, God, I hear you speak my name, reminding me that I am blessed to be a blessing. May my hands and feet, indeed my whole life, follow my prayers so that I may be used by you as an instrument of your Kingdom on earth. Amen
