God of Power,
You know how hard we have been working to tell others about this campaign, “Transformed!” So many people have already committed so many of their resources toward the projects that are part of it. So many people have given their time and energy, and talents so that this can happen. Children have saved their money in piggy banks for donation. Students have exercised their talents to raise funds to contribute. Videos have been developed, booklets published, websites designed, meetings and gatherings of all sorts have been hosted, all so that the lives of people in the city we serve can be changed for the better, including our own.
But God, I know that none of it will really bring the kind of transformation you have envisioned without you, the Holy Spirit, pouring in and making it happen. You do mighty things as the Spirit. You take our fervent prayers and our faithful efforts and work miracles with them. We do our best, and you come as mighty wind and fire and magnify those efforts to accomplish your purposes!
God, you ask me to pray to you honestly. I pray for this campaign. I pray that you will be Yahweh Yireh, the God who provides and supply through our congregation every single dollar and every single thing needed for these important projects. That is my honest prayer. When I look deeper, what I really pray for is that the people and families whom these projects benefit would know your love through this work, and their lives would be changed by that love. And when I look deeper still, what I really pray for is that through this work, through my giving of time and talent and money, my own life will be transformed as well.
Come Holy Spirit, and transform your city, including me. Amen.
