A PERSONAL PRAYER

God,

I am so thankful today for all those who have loved me. Grandparents. Parents. In-laws. Amazing wife. Children. Friends. Teachers. Pastors. Youth counselors. Coaches. And I am so thankful for the ways they loved me. Peanut butter sandwiches and bean with bacon soup. Car rides. Words of encouragement. Tuition payments. Challenges, and hard conversations. Smiles in the hallway. Laughter. Hugs and kisses. Moments of forgiveness and forbearance. Each of them flow over me to shape me into who you want me to be.

God, today I will have the opportunity to pass on that same love, love that began with you and was shared with me by so many wonderful people, to other people. Don’t let me miss those chances. It will be my act of worship to you. Amen.
